I have an older macbook pro as well that has a TB2 port. Every time I connect the 2 adapters the firewire port shows up. I tried checking the system information to see if my adapters are working fine. I've been trying to fix this for 2 weeks now. When I use an external power source my macbook wont recognise is. I connected everything and my motu wont even power on. So I bought the 2 apple adapters (TB3 to TB2 and TB2 to Firewire).
But I really want to start using it on my new macbook. I've bene using it for many years now on my old mac pro and it works perfectly. I own the motu ultralite mk3 which only works with firewire. So I bought a new macbook pro a couple of months ago. I'm new here but this looks like the place to be to solve my problem.
